Description
This Biscuits and Sausage Gravy Breakfast Pizza combines the comfort of biscuits and gravy with the fun of pizza. Topped with creamy sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, and melted cheddar cheese, this dish is perfect for breakfast or brunch.
Ingredients
- 1 package (16 oz) breakfast sausage
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- Ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)
- 1 pre-baked pizza crust (12-inch)
- Cooking spray
- 6 eggs
- ¼ cup milk (for the eggs)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or more, if desired)
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the sausage gravy:
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the breakfast sausage and cook, stirring frequently, until the sausage is fully browned (about 5-7 minutes). Drain any excess grease.
Sprinkle the flour over the sausage and stir until the flour is fully incorporated. Gradually pour in the 2 cups of milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the gravy thickens to your desired consistency (about 10 minutes).
Season the gravy with ground black pepper to taste. Set aside.
2️⃣ Set up the pizza base:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Place the pre-baked pizza crust on a baking sheet. Lightly brush the surface of the crust with olive oil, if using.
Spread half of the prepared sausage gravy evenly over the pizza crust.
3️⃣ Cook the eggs:
Spray a large skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat.
In a bowl, whisk together the 6 eggs and ¼ cup of milk. Pour the egg mixture into the hot skillet and scramble the eggs, stirring occasionally, until they are just set (about 5 minutes). Remove from heat.
4️⃣ Assemble the pizza:
Spoon the scrambled eggs evenly over the gravy-covered pizza crust.
Generously sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
5️⃣ Bake the pizza:
Place the assembled pizza in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
6️⃣ Serve:
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy your breakfast pizza!
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can top the pizza with chopped green onions or a dash of hot sauce before serving.
- Use store-bought or homemade pizza dough: If using raw pizza dough instead of pre-baked crust, make sure to prebake it according to package instructions before adding the toppings.
