  • Total Time: 45 minutes

Description

A delicious fusion of a classic Chicken Cordon Bleu and a stromboli, featuring layers of chicken, chicken ham, and cheese wrapped in golden pizza dough, perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
  • 6 slices chicken ham
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese
  • ½ cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2️⃣ Roll Out the Dough

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle, approximately 12×14 inches in size.

3️⃣ Prepare the Filling

In a small bowl, mix the Dijon mustard and mayonnaise (if using). Spread the mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.

Layer the chicken ham slices evenly over the mustard. Add Swiss cheese slices, shredded chicken, and mozzarella cheese on top.

4️⃣ Roll the Stromboli

Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log, ensuring the filling stays in place. Pinch the edges and ends to seal. Place the stromboli seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.

5️⃣ Brush with Egg Wash

Brush the surface of the stromboli with the beaten egg to give it a glossy, golden finish.

6️⃣ Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the stromboli is golden brown and fully cooked.

7️⃣ Add the Butter Topping

While the stromboli is baking, mix the melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley.

Once baked, remove the stromboli from the oven and brush the garlic butter over the top. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired for added texture.

8️⃣ Cool and Serve

Let the stromboli cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing it into 1-inch pieces. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Customizations: Add spinach, mushrooms, or caramelized onions to the filling for extra flavor.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
  • Freezing Tip: Wrap the unbaked stromboli in foil and freeze. Bake directly from frozen, adding 10–15 minutes to the cooking time.
