2024 wonton wrappers

Vegetable oil (for deep frying)

Instructions

Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. If you’d like a fresh twist, stir in some diced strawberries along with the strawberry jam or preserves to add extra flavor and texture.

Assemble the Wonton Bites: Lay a wonton wrapper flat on a clean surface. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the cheesecake filling into the center of each wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water, then fold it into a triangle or envelope shape. Press firmly around the edges to seal the wonton and remove any air bubbles.

Fry the Bites: Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or saucepan to 350°F (175°C). Fry the wonton bites in small batches, cooking for about 1–2 minutes per side or until they are golden brown and crispy. Be sure not to overcrowd the pan. Once fried, remove the bites with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
