Doritos Walking Tacos

  • Author: David

Description

Doritos Walking Tacos are a fun, portable twist on traditional tacos, perfect for parties, game day, or casual dinners. Served straight from individual chip bags, they’re layered with seasoned meat, cheese, and your favorite toppings. This recipe brings together the crunch of Doritos and the bold flavors of taco fillings in a mess-free and customizable way.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
1 packet taco seasoning
2/3 cup water
6 small bags of Doritos (nacho cheese or flavor of choice)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded lettuce
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
1/4 cup chopped onions (optional)
1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
Sour cream, salsa, or guacamole for topping

Instructions

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.

Add the taco seasoning and water to the pan. Stir to combine and simmer for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens.

Gently crush the Doritos bags to break the chips into bite-sized pieces, then open the top of each bag.

Spoon some of the seasoned meat into each bag. Top with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and any other desired toppings.

Serve immediately with a fork, straight from the bag.

Notes

These tacos are incredibly versatile—swap out the meat for black beans or shredded chicken for variety. You can prepare the toppings in advance to make assembly quick and easy. Ideal for outdoor events or kid-friendly meals, walking tacos keep cleanup minimal and the fun level high.
