  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (about 1 cup / 150 g)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz / 425 g) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz / 411 g) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups (480 ml) beef broth
  • 1 ½ cups (200 g) elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup (115 g) shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat, then drain any excess grease.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic; cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then stir in the uncooked macaroni.
  5. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender.
  6. Top with cheddar cheese (or stir it in) until it melts, if using.
  7. Let the dish rest for 5 minutes to thicken, then serve warm.
