Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz bow tie pasta (farfalle)
  • 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the bow tie pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2️⃣ Brown the Sausage: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned (about 5-7 minutes).

3️⃣ Sauté the Aromatics: Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, until softened. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute, until fragrant.

4️⃣ Make the Sauce: Pour in the diced tomatoes, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.

5️⃣ Combine Everything: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the creamy tomato sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

6️⃣ Serve & Garnish: Plate the pasta and top with fresh basil or parsley. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Extra Creamy: Add an extra ¼ cup of heavy cream for a richer sauce.
  • Spicy Kick: Use hot Italian sausage or add red pepper flakes for heat.
