This hearty dish combines the flavors of a classic meat lover’s pizza with cheesy tortellini for an easy, satisfying meal that’s perfect for pizza and pasta lovers alike.
Ingredients
- 12 ounces tortellini pasta
- ½ pound Italian ground sausage
- ½ medium yellow onion, diced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup cooked chopped bacon
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Sliced pepperoni
- 24 ounces pizza sauce
Instructions
Boil the tortellini according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and sauté the diced onions until soft and translucent.
Add the ground beef and Italian sausage to the skillet. Cook until fully browned, breaking up the meat as it cooks. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute. Season with Italian seasoning.
Drain excess grease and return the meat mixture to the skillet. Stir in the cooked bacon.
Pour in the pizza sauce and add the cooked tortellini, stirring to coat everything evenly. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the top, then layer with sliced pepperoni. Cover the skillet, turn off the heat, and let the steam melt the cheese.
Serve hot and enjoy.
Notes
- Add crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
- Try using a three-cheese blend for extra cheesiness.
- For a crispy topping, transfer to a baking dish, broil for a few minutes, and let the cheese bubble and brown.
