Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground chicken 🍗
- 1 cup diced yellow onion 🧅
- 24 oz marinara sauce 🍅
- 2 tbsp basil pesto 🌿
- 1 tsp salt 🧂
- 1 tsp pepper 🌶️
- ⅓ cup shredded Parmesan cheese 🧀
- 4 brioche buns 🍞
- ¼ cup garlic margarine or butter 🧈
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese 🧀
Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to toast the buns. 🔥
2️⃣ Heat a large sauté pan over medium-high heat. Add the ground chicken and cook, crumbling it as it browns. 🍳
3️⃣ Add the diced onions to the pan with the chicken and stir well. Continue cooking until the chicken is fully cooked through. 🧅🍗
4️⃣ Pour in the marinara sauce, basil pesto, salt, and pepper. Stir until the chicken is evenly coated in the sauce. 🍅🌿
5️⃣ Lower the heat to a simmer, and mix in the shredded Parmesan cheese. Stir well and let the mixture cook on low while you prepare the buns. 🧀
6️⃣ Lay the brioche buns on a baking sheet. Spread garlic margarine or butter on the buns and place them in the oven to toast for 5 minutes. 🧈🍞
7️⃣ Once the buns are toasted, spoon the chicken mixture onto the bottom buns. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the chicken mixture, then cover with the top buns. 🧀
